Rare Purls offers the following classes and workshops. We will schedule the day and time, when you call to register. Classes and workshops are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call the shop for availability - 770-910-7626. As classes and workshops require additional staff, prepayment is required. We ask 24 hour notice if you need to reschedule your session. Beginner's Course If you don't know how to knit but want to learn, this is the course for you. The course is made up in three 2 hour classes scheduled for your convenience. You will learn: Knit stitch Purl stitch How to read patterns Two Cast ons Binding off Making fringe 5 Stitch Patterns You will learn how to make our Sampler Scarf which is in our Free Pattern section on this website. The beginners knitting course is $85 for private rate and $65 per person for group rate plus materials. Sock Course Socks are the new rave in the knitting world. Be a part of it! Then the Oops! class would be highly recommended. You will learn how to: Fix a dropped stitch Unknit Reading your knitting And other techniques to learn how to fix your knit project The Oops! class is $35 per person. Seaming - mattress stitch, tack seams, three needle bind off Clean seams are so important in hand knits. Learn three basic seaming techniques. Edgings - picot bind off, applied I-cord, picked up ribbing, crocheted crab stitch Techniques for dressing up raw edges and bind offs in hand knits. Cast ons - long tail, knitted, cable, provisional, backwards loop, picking up stitches It all starts with a cast on! Here are 4 great ones for your knitting tool box plus a bonus technique. Moebius Cowl workshop - Learn Cat Bordhi's challenging moebius cast on, the gateway to a fabulous cowls in a variety of yarns. For this workshop, Bordhi's Treasury of Magical Knitting is required, 15% off when purchased for this class. 2 hours - $35 Cable Class Learn to knit cables, make a provisional cast on, and 3 needle bind off. Project is Burberry Inspired Cowl, a free pattern on Ravelry.com (2) 2 hour sessions $50 per person. Knitting in the Round on Two Circular Needles - No more seaming hats, mittens, or fingerless gloves, when you learn to knit in the round using 2 circular needles. 2 hours - $35

Beginner's Course
